Adolescent Group

York Region Abuse Program has spaces available in Adolescent Group for young women, ages 13 to 18, who experienced sexual abuse as a child or adolescent. This free 11-weeks group takes place between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in York Region.

The group will:

• Provide a support network of other young women who share similar feelings, concerns and experiences
• Increase coping, problem solving and stress management skills
• Help integrate early childhood memories and manage flashbacks
• Promote self-care and help curb self-injury
• Help to increase self-esteem and encourage self responsibility
• Increase knowledge of healthy sexuality and establishing boundaries
• Provide community resources and referrals
