When you think of children, what are the images that come to mind? Most of us think of laughter, joy, innocence and freedom from the cares and worries of adult life. Seldom do we acknowledge that there are adults in their lives who would rob them of their joy and innocence by inflicting upon them the trauma of sexual abuse. Every year, hundreds of innocent children in York Region experience the horror of sexual abuse. The shocking reality is this: 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 5 boys will become victims of sexual abuse before their 18th birthday.

The Children’s Champion Gala is an annual black-tie fundraising dinner that brings hope to children and their families. All proceeds are used to eliminate the waiting lists for the treatment of children who have experienced sexual abuse in our Region. We invite you to join us for an amazing evening of delicious food, great entertainment and dancing.

If you believe that all children deserve a childhood free from fear and hurt, then please help us provide hope to the young victims in our community.
